Brendon Edwards

For Brendon Edwards, being an artist is an investigation not only into the field of aesthetics, but philosophy, geometry, mathematics, music, dance, language and light. The artist recognises that the world is devoid of meaning, and his work is a direct emotional and intellectual response to what art and meaning might be. Although he believes in the depersonalisation of art, his sculptures are representative of our both our rational and emotive ideas due to our inability to step
out of language. This pushes the boundaries of art, meaning and what is possible.
Since working with large scale steel he has had two sell out exhibitions. In 2014, he was invited to exhibit at the Southern Guild along with some of South Africa’s prominent sculptors. He has done large scale installations throughout South Africa
in both public, corporate and private spaces.
